A 19-year-old man was stabbed in the borough of LaSalle, Montreal, on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

It all started during an altercation that allegedly went wrong around 1:20 a.m. near Bishop-Power Boulevard and George Street, according to Montreal police.

During this altercation which would have degenerated, the suspect would have inflicted on the victim an injury to the upper body, reported a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The victim was transported to a hospital in a condition considered critical, but stable, said agent Raphaël Bergeron, specifying that the victim is out of danger.

The victim, who is not known to police circles, will be met by investigators who will try to establish the reason behind this armed attack, it was added.
