The new orders of the German industry registered last September a decrease of 4% compared to the previous month, when they had dropped 2%, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

On their side, in year-on-year terms, new orders from German factories in September decreased by 10.8%.

While domestic orders increased 0.5% in September, orders from abroad fell 7% from the previous month. New orders from the euro zone decreased by 8% and new orders from other countries fell by 6.3% compared to August 2022.

In September, the producers of capital goods recorded a 6% decrease in orders compared to August. Producers of intermediate goods registered a fall of 3.4%, while those of consumer goods saw a 7.2% increase in new orders.
