The man in his fifties living with an intellectual disability, found dead in Nicolet, in the Centre-du-Québec, last Friday, should never have lived with the accused, according to knowledge of them.
Florent Dumas would not be the first victim of Pascal Martel.
The accused allegedly abused another man living with an intellectual disability for 16 years.
The former roommate of Pascal Martel is in shock. What happened to Florent Dumas brings back painful memories.
Himself, living with an intellectual disability, he claims to have lived with Martel and recounts having suffered atrocities.
“I suffered violence, physical, moral, humiliation, everything that you cannot imagine. My knees, to me, on the cement, raw, to strengthen me, ”he said.
Sources reported to TVA Nouvelles that the environment in which Florent Dumas lived was toxic and violent.
“I played the role of a housekeeper to deny all that, but I saw a lot of business go by: drugs, money… I was taking care of her children, the diaper change and I consoled them when they asked why their daddy wasn’t with them and worse, “added his former roommate.
One of the accused’s ex-spouses was also a victim of his violent behavior.
“One evening when we were in bed, he looked at me and said to me: “you, I could see you in garbage bags on the edge of the street. happen if you betray me,’” she recalled.
His ex-spouse, like his former roommate, said he was manipulated by Martel.
Several denunciations would have already been made, several years ago.
“Who listened to us? No one listened to us. The violence that the children experienced, and the rest of us also the violence that we had experienced. I think that if, 10 years ago, when we denounced, someone had listened to us, Florent would not have come out in garbage bags, ”said the ex-spouse.
According to information from relatives, impossible to encourage Florent Dumas to leave the home where he lived. Without guardianship or curatorship, he was free to make his decisions.
Pascal Martel and his son, Jason, must return to class next Wednesday and Thursday.
