An off-duty Cook County sheriff’s officer was shot in the leg in Englewood late Saturday, Chicago police said.
The attack occurred about 8:35 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Aberdeen Street.
The deputy works as a correctional officer at Cook County Jail, said Sophia Ansari, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.
Police were seeking two suspects in connection with the shooting.
No information was immediately available about the circumstances of the attack.
