Men have robbed several people, sometimes mobbing them or punching those who refuse to give up their belongings, in the Budlong Woods neighborhood in recent weeks, according to police.
At least one of the robberies involved four people attacking a victim on the street, according to a police community alert issued Sunday.
The robberies, which date to at least Jan. 12, have taken place in the Lincoln Police District in the area between Bryn Mawr and Foster avenues and California and Western avenues, according to the alert.
In each attack, the robbers have come upon someone on the street and demanded their property. If a victim refuses, the robber or robbers have then punched them and stolen from them, according to police.
The robberies have taken place:
- About 4 p.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of West Balmoral Avenue;
- About 4 a.m. Tuesday in the 5300 block of North Rockwell Street;
- And about 8:30 a.m. Jan. 12 in the 5500 block of North California Avenue.
In the robbery Saturday, the suspect was described as a black man with a dark complexion, 20 to 25 years old, about 6 feet tall and about 190 pounds, with an Afro hairstyle.
In the robbery Tuesday, four black men or boys attacked someone; one of them was described as being in his 20s, about 5-foot-10 and about 160 pounds.
