HOPATCONG — Police are warning the public to stay off the ice after a man fell through while ice fishing on Sunday.
The man was fishing on Crescent Cove off of Hudson Avenue Sunday when he fell in, according to the police department’s Facebook page.
An officer and a fireman put on ice rescue suits and helped him stay afloat until the fire department arrived to pull him out.
He was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police said the man’s condition was unknown.
