Two men have been killed and three others have been wounded in shootings since mid-afternoon Sunday on the South and West sides, police said.

In the Gresham neighborhood at or near Foster Park, 1440 W. 84th St., a man in his 20s was shot to death about 1:55 p.m., according to police. The man was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was dead on the scene, according to a police media notification. Police did not release information about the circumstances of the shooting.

In an attack in the the South Shore neighborhood, a 45-year-old man was shot and critically wounded just before 1:45 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of East 75th Street, according to a police media notification. The man suffered gunshot wounds to the face and neck and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he later died. A 54-year-old man who also was wounded in the attack was later found and taken to Northwestern for treatment of a gunshot wound to the right thigh, according to police, who initially only had information on the man killed. The second man’s condition was stabilized at the hospital, police said. 

The men were outside walking when someone came up and fired shots, hitting them, police said. No one was in custody.

In other shootings:

  • In the Belmont-Central neighborhood, a 28-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg about 8:10 p.m. in the 5700 block of West Fullerton Avenue. The man was taken to Community First Medical Center, where he was in good condition. The man got into into a dispute with someone who took out a gun during the fight and shot the man, police said.
  • A 37-year-old man was shot just before 4:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of North Karlov Avenue in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood. The man was on the street when someone came up and shot him in the back and leg. He went to Norwegian American Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
