MONROE TWP. — Three people were arrested in connection with two gas station robberies, township police reported.
Monroe police responded to an armed robbery and assault at Sun Petro gas station on north Black Horse Pike around 9 p.m. Sunday.
Two men robbed an attendant at gunpoint and one struck the victim in the face with his firearm, police said. The two fled on foot to a nearby apartment complex where a woman was waiting for them in a vehicle.
Police learned the two men were allegedly involved in a similar robbery in Winslow Township about 15 minutes earlier.
Shortly before midnight Sunday, a Franklin Township officer pulled over a vehicle matching the description of the one the woman was driving in the gas station robberies, according to police.

Monroe police responded to assist and arrested the trio in connection with both robberies.
Marquese Battle, 26, of Eagle Lane, Franklinville, was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
Russell Sorenson, 34, of Madison Avenue, Clayton, was charged with robbery, and Amanda Bender, 29, of Harding Highway, Buena, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
All three were placed in Salem County Correctional Facility.
Police recovered two imitation firearms and robbery proceeds.
