Eight people were wounded in shootings from Thursday to Friday across the city.

Two people were shot just after midnight in the city’s Marquette Park neighborhood, police said. A woman was standing on the front porch of an apartment in the 6300 block of South Rockwell Street when two men approached and opened fire, shooting the woman in the head. Inside the apartment, a man was shot in the right shoulder. The woman was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, and the man’s condition was stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital. Police said both of the victims were in their 20s. 

Another double shooting happened about 7:35 p.m. in the 600 block of North Kedzie Avenue, police said. A 24-year-old man was shot in the right shoulder and the other man, 26, was shot in the back. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said. The men were traveling in a vehicle when a dark-colored car with four occupants drove by and someone inside  fired shots, police said.

A separate double shooting happened about 6:20 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Dante Avenue and wounded two men, according to officials. Both men were shot after an vehicle pulled up and an unknown occupant fired, police said. A man about 39 was shot in the face and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition had stabilized but was serious, according to a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department and police. A 28-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and was in serious condition at Jackson Park Hospital. Police initially said the shooting happened in the 7300 block of South Kenwood Avenue.

Another person, a man in his 20s, was shot shortly before 2 p.m. in the 2300 block of West Logan Boulevard in the Avondale neighborhood, police said. He was shot in the foot and was taken in good condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

An 18-year-old man was shot shortly after 1 p.m. in the city’s Chatham neighborhood, police said. According to preliminary information, the victim was wounded in the 8300 block of South Maryland Avenue, police said. He was shot in the right leg and taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

No one was in custody, and police were investigating.
