Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge owners can now check out what to expect from Android 7.0 Nougat through the software update manual, which recently became available.
The smartphones will get a number of new features once they update to Android 7.0 Nougat, including a revamp to the home screen, settings menu, status bar, notifications and popup menus, among many others.
However, there are several Nougat features that will remain exclusive to the Galaxy S7. The Galaxy S6 won’t get wide-selfie mode, always-on display, video enhancer or performance mode.
Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be among its smartphones to update to Android 7.0 Nougat. However, the manufacturer has not set a timeline for the software’s release.
Android 7.0 Nougat has been hitting unlocked Galaxy S7 handsets since mid-January. U.S. carriers are now testing the update prior to rollout.
Other devices slated to update to Android 7.0 Nougat include the Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Tab A with S Pen, Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE unlock), Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A8.
