In Season 12, episode 6, suitably titled “The Flaw In The Saw,” the Jeffersonian-FBI team will investigate the death of a successful golfer-turned-lumberjack Phyllis Paul. His dismembered body was found by the authorities. Once they start conducting their investigation, it leads them to the Lumber Sports Regional Championships. It’s a lumberjack competition.
Booth and Brennan discover myriad secrets in this competition that may have played a role in Phyllis’s murder including an affair with a married rival.

Brennan and Booth arrive at the competition to talk to a suspect. However, Booth tells his wife that they should wait for her to put down her electric saw before accusing her of murder.
The Milanobet team will go undercover in the Lumber Sports Regional Championship in order to find Phyllis’ killer.
Although episode 6 is all fun, episode 9 of “Bones” Season 12 will be a lot more serious since former psychologist and chef Gordon Wyatt (Stephen Fry) returns to the Fox series. Although the shrink is there is examine Dr. Lance Sweets’ notes on Dr. Zack Addy (Eric Millegan), TVLine reports that he will have an informal session over dinner with Booth who is facing problems in his marriage.
“Bones” co-showrunner Michael Peterson told the website, “We do a little bit of food, a little bit of therapy.”
Additionally, in episode 8, Brennan will learn about her father’s apparent illness and she isn’t going to be pleased that it was kept from her.
