FORT LEE — A drug sting took a dramatic turn Monday after the suspect ended up trapped on a cliff, according to a statement from police.

Palisades Interstate Parkway Police said officers conducted a controlled drug purchase as part of an ongoing investigation in a stairway off Hudson Terrace in Fort Lee around 5:15 p.m.

But the suspect fled into the wooded area north of the George Washington Bridge, with officers pursuing him on foot.

Police said he crossed over the fence line and started to climb down the Palisades Cliff, only to get stuck in a tree.

Rappel teams were called and managed to free him from his predicament.

Police identified the suspect as Anthony Lora, 22, of Bronx, N.Y.

Lora faces drug and resisting arrest charges. Police said he was also wanted in connection with armed robbery charges from NYPD.

Lora is being held in Bergen County jail pending extradition to New York.
