JERSEY CITY — A 42-year-old man was robbed of $2,000 Sunday night and three people in his family were injured when they came to his defense, police said.
The victim was walking up to his Hopkins Avenue home at about 10 p.m. when a man stopped and addressed him by his nickname. When the 42-year-old confirmed his identity, he was punched in the face multiple times, according to a police report.
He was carrying $2,000 in his front pocket and handed it over to the suspect, police said.
A 43-year-old woman, a 40-year-old man, and a 68-year-old man came tried to break up the robbery and were all injured in the attack, the report states.
No one was arrested in connection with the robbery.
