The treating doctor in Salisbury, Christine Blanshard, said that state of Sergei Skripals would “improve rapidly”. The condition of Julija Skripal is also stable. The 33-year-old had reported on Thursday about her progress in her recovery. She expressed herself in her letter from Scotland Yard, however, neir to her far’s state of health nor to any motives or observations just before deed.

The Skripals were unconsciously found in Salisbury in England on March 4 and have been treated in hospital since n. The British government is making Russia responsible for poisonous attack. According to ir findings, Skripals were poisoned with Nowitschok – a means established in former Soviet Union.

Russia is still experimenting with Nowitschok

The British ambassador to Germany, Sebastian Wood, has accused Russia of still experimenting with Nowitschok nerve poison. In German radio he said that it was not only known that type of nerve poison was originally developed in Russia. The British intelligence service also had evidence that Russian government had kept a secret program on nerve venom. Russia even conducted experiments on how small amounts could be administered to kill people, ambassador said. It is most likely that attack was done on behalf of Russian state.

Russia rejects any responsibility for poisonous attack. In a meeting of United Nations Security Council in New York, Russian UN Ambassador Vassily Nebensja spoke of a “propaganda war” that was instigated against his country. British UN Ambassador Karen Pierce retorted that London government had acted perfectly in accordance with international conventions.

Meanwhile, Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) is investigating samples that y have taken in Salisbury. Results are expected for coming week.

In a laboratory of British Ministry of Defence, it should be wise that poison comes from Russia. In tests it was only found that it was Nowitschok. According to laboratory director, only one State actor is able to produce poison.

Media report looks at origin of poison in Shikhany

The British The Times reported that nerve venom originated from a Russian military research facility in Shikhany. The British newspaper reported that smaller quantities of Nowitschok were stored re. The facility is located in Saratov region on Volga. Intelligence information clearly pointed to Shikhany, said British chemical weapons expert Hamish de Bretton-Gordon. The quantities stored re were sufficient for assassinations, but too low for military operations. There is no evidence that poison originated from or laboratories of former Soviet Union, for example from Ukraine or Uzbekistan.

The Russian government rejected report. “All sites where chemical weapons have been stored are known. Shikhany does not belong to this, “said Mikhail Babich, Kremlin representative in Volga Federal District, agency Interfax. Russia has destroyed all of its chemical weapons between 2002 and 2017. The OPCW witnessed this.

In Shikhany re is a branch of research institute Gosniiocht. According to its own presentation, establishment deals with safety issues in chemical sector and developed technologies for destruction of C-weapons. Shikhany with about 6,000 inhabitants lies about 800 km souast of Moscow.
