The Oscar Academy has excluded entertainer Bill Cosby and director Roman Polanski. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said that board voted to remove Cosby and Polanski’s membership. The exclusion of successes due to violation of Academy’s rules of Conduct. The background to decision is allegations of sexual abuse.

A court sentenced Cosby last week for sexual coercion. Cosby is known from television show of 80s and 90s named after him. It was second trial against Cosby. The previous ended without judgement, because jury could not agree. Polanski was accused of rape of a minor in 1977 in United States, but escaped a trial by displacing himself in Europe.
The academy had already excluded producer Harvey Weinstein in October 2017 after numerous accusations of sexual harassment. Weinstein was only second person to be expelled from academy. The actor Carmine Caridi lost 2004 of his membership because he was supposed to have circulated confidential DVDs of films that were in race for an Oscar.
