Libertyville native Phillipa Soo is set to take on her next Broadway role in the premiere of "Amelie, A New Musical."

Soo, 26, skyrocketed to fame after her Tony-nominated turn as Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton in "Hamilton." She will play the title role in the musical inspired by the 2005 Oscar-nominated French film of the same name.

According to the Center Theatre Group, the musical tells the story of the "inquisitive and charmingly shy Amelie as she turns the streets of Montmartre into a world of her own imagining, while secretly orchestrating moments of joy for those around her."

Soo was joined by her castmates Feb. 10 for a preview concert that showcased songs from the musical. Among the featured numbers was the ballad "Stay."

Soo also performed "America the Beautiful" before the Super Bowl earlier this month with some of her "Hamilton" castmates.

Broadway previews for the show begin March 9.
