“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” has already been confirmed to be one of the launch titles of the Nintendo Switch hybrid console. The action-adventure game was also revealed to arrive on the Wii U as well. Ahead of its March 3 release date however, Nintendo announced the game’s Expansion Pass that will unlock more content for players to enjoy.
Because “Breath of the Wild” is going to be a big release, Nintendo has designed the game to feature a massive version of Hyrule or the kingdom where Link’s adventure takes place. Despite packing an already gargantuan setting for the game, it appears the developers of the game are still not content with what they have done. So Nintendo announced this Valentine’s Day the game’s Expansion Pass, which basically serves as the key to more play time for players.
In the YouTube-uploaded announcement of the Japanese video game company, “Breath of the Wild” producer Eiji Aonuma proudly shares the good news to fans of the franchise. “We’ve decided to create additional content for the game — a first for the main-‘Legend of Zelda’ series,” he says in the clip after confirming that they designed Hyrule to be so huge players will have a variety of fun experiences as they explore the place.
The “Legend of Zelda” expansion pack contains bonuses and two LDC packs. The bonuses pertain to three new treasure chests that contain useful items and in-game clothing. These treasure chests are found in the Great Plateau. As for the DLC packs, the first one adds new Cave of Trials challenge, the new hard mode and additional map feature. On the contrary, the second DLC pack will contain a new original story, a new dungeon and more challenges. “With this additional content, we’d like to give even seasoned Hyrule explorers something new and fun,” Aonuma explained.
“Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” is slated for release on March 3. On the same day, players will have the opportunity to buy the Expansion Pass for $19.99, as revealed by Business Wire. The almost $20 price tag of the pass will be worth it because the DLC packs are scheduled for release this year. The first pack is expected to launch this summer, while the second DLC pack will become available later this year during the holiday season.
