An 11-year-old girl was in "very critical” condition after a shooting Saturday night on the South Side.

Two other people were fatally shot and at least four more wounded in separate attacks.

The child was sitting in parked vehicle in the 6500 block of South King Drive in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood about 7:40 p.m., when someone fired shots hitting her in the back of the head, police and fire officials said. 

Police earlier said the shooting occurred in the 6300 block of South King Drive.

She was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where she was listed in "very critical” condition, said Chicago Fire Dept. spokesman Curtis Hudson.

Four people were shot, including one person who died in another shooting which happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 100 block of North Mayfield Avenue, said police spokeswoman Officer Michelle Tannehill and Hudson.

Two of the four victims, of unknown ages, were males and two were females, said Hudson.

One person who died was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, said Hudson. Another victim who was in good condition was also taken to West Suburban. The other two victims, both of whom were in serious to critical condition, were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and Stroger Hospital., said Hudson

In other shootings, a 23-year-old man was killed and a woman critically injured.

The 23-year-old man was in the 100 block of North Menard Avenue in the city’s South Austin neighborhood about 6:55 a.m. Saturday when someone shot him in the head. He was found by responding officers lying on the ground in an alley and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

His name was not being made public yet.

The shooting may have been gang-related and no arrests have been made, police said.

A woman in her early 30s was shot in the left side of her head about 7:15 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Winchester Avenue, police said.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was in critical condition.

No one was in custody and police are investigating.
