The Polish government is criticized, among or things, for its restrictive media policy. In November, European Parliament expressed considerable doubts about rule of law in Poland and launched proceedings against country. The resolution states, in particular, that re is a serious breach of European fundamental values, particularly because of judicial reforms and interference in freedom of government party to media and assembly.

A rule of law procedure is intended to ensure compliance with European fundamental values such as democracy, rule of law and human rights. It can ultimately lead to withdrawal of voting rights for an EU country. The Member States must, however, establish a “serious and persistent breach” of EU values.
