Every day people in Germany listen to racist sayings and insults, some experience harassment and violence. The pensioner Aytop Özkuscu, for example, told in first part of our video how she was forced by her colleagues shortly after her arrival in Germany 1970, in winter frozen soil digging up. Well, fifty years later, her granddaughter Cansu also Rassismuserfahrungen, albeit more subtle.
In second part we wanted to know about you and four or people: What do you do in difficult situations? What are right words to address people to hurtful behavior – especially if it wasn’t meant to be evil, or if it didn’t seem to come from right?
We have invited six older and younger people to a conversation between generations: Cansu Özkuscu speaks to her grandmor Aytop; The Chinese-German film director Dieu Hao do with retiree Dang Chau Lam from Vietnam; And African scientist Josephine Apraku talks to activist Tahir della.
In end, y betray what y want of each or generation in dealing with racism and society.
