Selena Gomez found new love in The Weeknd recently, and now the singer is getting ready to release some new music as well.
The “Hands to Myself” hitmaker took to Instagram to give her fans a preview of one of her new songs on Friday, Feb. 3. On Instagram Stories, Gomez shared short black and white clips showing close-ups on her face while she’s singing her new track.
According to Billboard, Gomez’s fans are speculating that this unknown track might be “It Ain’t Me,” a song that was registered with ASCAP earlier this week and features Kygo as a co-writer. The publication also noted that the production of the song Gomez previewed sounds like it has tropical house vibes, a genre which Kygo favors. The 24-year-old pop star seemed to confirm this suspicion when she posted a snap and tagged Kygo on it.

There are some speculations that Gomez might be talking about ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber in the new song as one of her lyrics refer to meeting someone when she was 17 years old, Just Jared reported. “I had a dream we were back just 17, summer nights, my libertines, never growing up,” she sings on the track. While Gomez did not say who she was referring to in particular, the singer-actress did meet Bieber in 2009, when she was 17.
Despite the speculations, Gomez has obviously moved on from Bieber, with whom she had an on-again, off-again relationship for four years. The “Good For You” songstress recently jetted off to Italy with new beau The Weeknd for a PDA-filled getaway. According to reports, they flew to Florence on Friday, Jan. 27 and left their hotel in Venice to return to the U.S. on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
Both Gomez and The Weeknd are expected to attend the 59th Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 12, so it’s possible the two will make their red carpet debut as a couple at the event.
