Selena Gomez might be busy with her career at the moment, but she still takes the time to show her support and love for her new boyfriend, The Weeknd, in simple and subtle ways.
In a new Instagram photo, the 24-year-old “Hands To Myself” hitmaker appeared to be wearing a The Weeknd shirt as she posed with her mother, Mandy Teefey, and some pals. The snapshot was posted to the Instagram account of her mom’s Kicked to the Curb Productions. In the caption of the photo, Teefey revealed that they had a “family game night” and joked that her daughter’s “date for the night was two hours late so he missed [the] group photo.” But she then added, “No, they are not really dating.”
While the design of Gomez’s shirt wasn’t clear in the photo, fans were quick to put two and two together and figure out that the singer was wearing some of her boyfriend’s merch. Check out the photos below and see for yourself if Gomez is indeed wearing The Weeknd merch.
Meanwhile, Gomez and The Weeknd, 26, were expected to make their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2017 Grammy Awards on Feb. 12. However, the “Good For You” songstress didn’t accompany her beau, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, to the awards show. Instead, they reunited at a private afterparty hosted by Rihanna later that night.
According to a source, Gomez and her boyfriend had a good time at the party, which was held at 1 OAK, before they were spotted leaving together in the back of a car. “They were partying, dancing and singing along with French Montana and James Harden,” a witness told People of the couple.
Another insider dished to the publication that Gomez’s former flame Justin Bieber also came to the party, but it was only a “quick appearance.” It looks like there’s a lot of tension between him and the couple as he reportedly “kept his distance” from Gomez and The Weeknd while he was there.
Prior to attending Rihanna’s party together, Gomez and her boyfriend were seen having dinner together at Sunset Tower, looking affectionate. A source revealed to People in another report that the pair seemed happy and in love, saying, “They walked in holding hands and were very cozy together. They looked very happy together and were escorted to a private back table.”
