“The Fosters” Season 4 returned to Freeform on Tuesday night with more problems rather than solutions.
Callie (Maia Mitchell) gets into a car accident with presumed killer Troy (Levi Fiehler). When she sees the chance, Callie decides to flee the scene. Troy also escapes before police officials could find him. Callie goes to the police to come clean about the accident, but she did not know that it’s a felony to leave the scene of the crime.
While speaking with TV Line, Mitchell said that Callie will have a hard time proving to the police officers that she did not have anything to do with the accident. However, this is going to be a difficult thing to do because Callie doesn’t necessarily have a good track record. “It’s her record and her word against his. On paper, Callie has all these issues. She’s been in juvy twice, and that doesn’t look good on her. She it’s this really frustrating thing of, her record doesn’t reflect who she is at all,” she said.
Meanwhile, Mitchell also opened up about Callie’s relationship with AJ (Tom Williamson) and Oslobet Aaron (Elliot Fletcher). In “Insult to Injury,” Callie and Aaron continue to work together through several different ordeals. Mitchell says that Callie’s feelings for Aaron will definitely change, especially when she gets to find comfort from him.
When asked what will happen to AJ and Callie, the actress said that AJ is very loyal to her, but the latter is not able to reciprocate this. “I think there’s really mutual love there. It’s just about where she’s at in her life. I don’t think she’s in a place where she can give all her energy to AJ – definitely not as much as he has available for her,” she said.
“The Fosters” Season 4 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Freeform.
