Friday kicks off with a slight chance of a shower or two and some light rain before the skies clear a bit for a few sun breaks this afternoon. High is forecast for 52 degrees.
After nearly a week of heavy rain (Hillsboro set a record for rainfall for the date on Wednesday with 1.23 inches – the old record for February 15 was 1.22 set in 1961) and continued flooding and landslides, the Portland area will welcome the slight break in “active” weather as both Friday and Saturday have only light showers in the forecast. Both days should top out at about 50 degrees.

Friday’s mostly dry weather will also help with the Tualatin River in the Farmington area as it is set to rise above flood stage Friday morning and crest at 33 feet Saturday morning. Fields and low-lying farms in the area should expect flooding through Saturday morning and some secondary roads in and around Farmington and Tualatin will see water over the roadways, according to the National Weather Service.
After a mostly dry Saturday the rain will return for Sunday with a high near 48 and a 60 percent chance of showers.
