Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) had certainly dreamed of a different start to the season in Formula 1 during the Grand Prix of Austria Sunday. The reigning world champion crossed the finish line in second position but finally ended fourth after a five-second penalty for having “closed the door” to Alexander Albon (Red Bull) who was in the process of overtaking and who has been hit before leaving the track.

“I thought that there was enough room,” said Hamilton. “It is unfortunate, but it is what it is. I had more speed than Bottas. The race ended badly for me. I thought that the incident with Albon was something that happens often in the race. But I have to accept the penalty. “
