More to know: The Devils officially activated defenseman Jon Merrill from injured reserve, and he will play on Tuesday after missing the past four games due to an upper body injury.

Merrill will be the only lineup change from Sunday’s 4-1 loss to the Sharks, replacing defenseman Seth Helgeson. Coach John Hynes said forward Beau Bennett was very close to returning, but he would not play on Tuesday.
