Ole Miss’ Damore’ea Stringfellow is not among the players invited to 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, a league source told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
The Rebels’ second-leading wide receiver transferred to Ole Miss from Washington, where he was involved in an altercation resulting in a guilty plea for assault in 2014. Last year, the NFL instituted a new policy that bars draft prospects from combine participation if they have misdemeanor or felony convictions involving violence or use of a weapon, domestic violence, a sexual offense and/or sexual assault. As a result, Stringfellow will have to wait until Ole Miss’ pro day to show NFL scouts a workout. Stringfellow’s absence from the invitation list was first reported by Albert Breer of MMQB.
Oklahoma’s Joe Mixon, one of the top running backs in the upcoming draft, and Baylor WR Ishmael Zamora have also had past legal issues and weren’t invited to the combine.
Stringfellow made 46 catches for 716 yards last season for Ole Miss as QB Chad Kelly’s No. 2 option behind TE Evan Engram, who led the team in both categories (65 for 926). Stringfellow was also one of two Rebels charged with disorderly conduct in January 2015, following a fight outside a nightclub in Oxford, Miss.
