PHILADELPHIA — WIP Wing Bowl 25 had its silver anniversary this year, and it was as ridiculous as ever.
Obviously it was awesome when Bob “Notorious B.O.B.” Shoudt won the wing eating competition by destroying 409 chicken wings in a total of 30 minutes. But for many spectators at the 94 WIP Sports Radio event, the antics at the Wells Fargo Center are just as important, from the pre-dawn tailgating to the Wingettes hanging on professional eaters weighing three times what they do.
Here are 5 ridiculous moments from Wing Bowl 25.
A marriage proposal
After Charles “Eggman” Rifici was eliminated from the competition, he popped the question to his now-fiance on the floor of the Wells Fargo Center. She said yes, and then looked genuinely dazed as the crowd cheered and she and Eggman posed for photos with jeweler Steven Singer, who sponsored the prizes at Wing Bowl and presumably, the ring.
Donald Trump getting cozy with Hillary Clinton
The floats for the competitors entrances were as elaborate as ever, but no one got a bigger reaction than Henry “Hank the Tank” Goldey. He rode in on a float dressed as Donald Trump, simulating a sexual act with a woman in a Hillary Clinton mask and a striped prison jumpsuit.

Steak and potatoes at Wing Bowl?
Yes, even though this was a wing-off, two-time champion and one-time Wing Bowl record holder Molly Schuyler came to the stage to attempt to beat a three minute, 23 second record for eating 4 1/2 pounds of steak and one pound of potatoes. She did it with five seconds to spare. Oh, and this was after she ate 95 wings in a five-minute one-on-one wing-off with five-time champ Bill “El Wingador” Simmons of Woodbury Heights.
Coolio and Ric Flair hung out together
It’s a pretty sure bet that rapper Coolio and former wrestler Ric “The Nature Boy” Flair run in different circles. But both were celebrity guests at Wing Bowl 25 and they posed for a photo together. Coolio performed “Gangster’s Paradise” with Wingettes on stage and Flair gave more than a few of his signature “woos.” He also told everyone to get drunk and that the Atlanta Falcons would win the Super Bowl.

Help me, Obi Wing Kenobi
Ridiculous is a word used to describe many of Douglas “Obi Wing” Petock’s antics, from the eating stunts he does to get into Wing Bowl to the lightsaber fights he always starts during his grand entrance. This year, after he was eliminated from the Legends division, the battle took him to the press area on the floor where he picked up a young woman and carried her away.
