Here are the candidates for The Oregonian/OregonLive’s high school team of the week for Jan. 28-Feb. 4, as nominated by fans and readers:

Amity boys basketball: Amity won three West Valley League games last week, the centerpiece a 91-89 upset of No. 1 and unbeaten Dayton. Clint Hatch’s driving layup as time expired provided the difference.

Seaside boys basketball: The Seagulls are the state’s only unbeaten boys basketball team after beating Banks and Scappoose last week. Seaside (16-0, 6-0 Cowapa) beat then-second place Banks 73-63 to take command of the Cowapa.

McMinnville boys basketball: The Grizzlies picked up a pair of wins over Greater Valley Conference contenders. First, it was an 86-77 victory over McKay on Tuesday, followed by a 68-54 win over rival Forest Grove three nights later. Aaron Baune (15 points), Isaiah Coste (13) and Cooper Rich (10) each scored in double figures against the Vikings, helping McMinnville avenge a 65-58 loss in December.

Who should be The Oregonian/OregonLive’s high school team of the week for Jan. 28-Feb. 4?

Lake Oswego boys basketball: The 1-4 start to the season seems like a distant memory after two more wins moved the Lakers above .500 at 10-9. Both of Lake Oswego’s latest wins came on the road: 71-46 at Newberg on Tuesday, and a 67-65 nailbiter at rival Lakeridge on Friday. Daniel Baumer nailed five first-half three-pointers and finished with a game-high 19 points as the Lakers outlasted the Pacers in overtime.

Beaverton boys basketball: Jake Estep led the way with 23 points, and the Beavers held off Jesuit for a 71-62 win Friday, sweeping the rival Crusaders for the second season in a row. “I know when I took this job, they’d beaten us 17 times in a row, then twice my first year,” said Andrew Vancil, Beaverton’s third-year coach. “I just told this group of seniors that you have a chance to leave your legacy here, and beat Jesuit two times your junior and senior year, and they accomplished that. We’re certainly very proud of that.”

Marist girls basketball: The Spartans took over sole possession of first place in the Midwestern League by beating Churchill 55-48. Emma McKenney made a go-ahead three-pointer and sank all four of her free throws in the final 45 seconds to help seal the win. Marist also took care of business against Thurston, beating the Colts 51-31.

Pendleton girls basketball: The resurgent Buckaroos, 9-16 a season ago, improved to 7-6 overall and 3-0 in Columbia River Conference play by beating Hermiston 53-48. It marked the program’s first win over the Bulldogs since Feb. 17, 2006.

Canby wrestling: The Cougars outlasted Aloha in the team race during the Oregon City Invitational to walk away with the title. Canby notched 238 points behind three titles from Taylor Mottern, Noah Strand and Jordan Peterson.

Tillamook wrestling: Nobody in the Cowapa League stood a chance against the Cheesemakers. At the district tournament, Tillamook hung a whopping 451 points on the board, easily taking the district title over runner-up Scappoose with 281
