The Android 7.0 Nougat update is rolling out onto more devices, including the Moto Z Play and the ZTE Axon 7. Reports indicate the Nougat update is now wirelessly hitting the Moto Z Play in India, which could mean other models should be on schedule for their updates.
The Verizon and U.S. unlocked Moto Z Play models are expected to update in March. The U.S. unlocked model in particular is still in beta mode. European models of the Moto Z Play have been updating to Android Nougat since late January.
Before Android Nougat, the Moto Z Play ran Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
ZTE has also announced the Axon 7 Android 7.0 update is hitting devices as of Tuesday. The Axon 7 runs on the T-Mobile network. The smartphone is also receiving compatibility with Google’s VR protocol, Daydream.
The software is hitting Axon 7 devices wirelessly, bringing features including upgrades for battery conservation and new emojis.
Before Android Nougat, the Axon 7 ran Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
