On Saturday, June 15th, the streets of London were bustling with excitement. As is tradition every second Saturday of June, the Trooping the Colour parade took place to celebrate the ceremonial birthday of King Charles III, even though his actual birthday is on November 14th.

King Charles III and his wife Camilla made their way to the Horse Guards Parade amidst the shouts of anti-monarchy protesters. The royal couple presided over the ceremony, which took place under a cloudy sky. While not by the side of the king and queen, the rest of the royal family was not far away.

Kate Middleton, looking stunning in white, watched the military parades from a balcony just above King Charles III and Camilla’s stand. The Duchess of Cambridge was accompanied by her three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, who matched her mother’s outfit, and Prince Louis. This was Kate’s first public appearance since December, as she had been undergoing treatment for cancer and had to step back from her royal duties.

Also in attendance were Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and her daughter Lady Louise. Sophie’s son, James, was not with them. Prince William, along with his uncle Prince Edward and aunt Princess Anne, were all on horseback for the military troop review.

After the military parade, the royal family headed back to Buckingham Palace. The procession, led by the king and queen followed by the carriage carrying the Duchess of Cambridge and her children, made its way up the Mall under pouring rain. The royal family then gathered around 1 pm for the traditional balcony appearance, followed by a flypast by the Royal Air Force.

The Trooping the Colour ceremony was a grand and colorful event, showcasing the unity and tradition of the British monarchy. Despite the rainy weather, the royal family shone bright, with Kate Middleton’s presence adding an extra touch of elegance to the occasion. The event was not just a celebration of the king’s birthday but also a display of royal splendor and history for all to witness.
