Samsung is making sure that its presence at the Mobile World Congress this year would be strongly felt by the attendees and the entire tech community. Apart from debuting its prototype for its foldable smartphones, the South Korea tech giant is also introducing its Galaxy TabPro S successor at the biggest tech exhibition this 2017. Ahead of the Barcelona event however, the specifications and features of the Galaxy TabPro S2 have just been outed by the Federal Communications Commission.
Just last Tuesday, several files containing details about the upcoming Samsung tablet surfaced on the FCC website. The device listed by the FCC has the model code SM-W727V, which is believed to be the code for the new TabPro S device. Also, the appearance of the listing is very timely, knowing that the same tablet received Bluetooth certification recently. Plus, Samsung is reportedly showcasing new tablets at MWC 2017, so it’s all the more right to infer that this device is going to be the TabPro S successor.
Based on the data found in the FCC listing, the Galaxy TabPro S2 is going to launch with Windows 10 operating system out of the box. The device is said to sport the all-new Intel Core i5-7200 Gen Kaby Lake processor that’s clocked at 3.1 GHz, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage.. Also, tablet is rocking a12-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display with 2160 x 1440 screen resolution. Other specs and features revealed by the FCC include the 13-megapixel back camera with native 4K video recording support and a 5-megapixel full HD front camera.
The Leaker learned that Samsung’s new tablet will also come with an S-Pen and a keyboard cover that makes it look like Microsoft’s Surface Pro tablet-laptop hybrid. It is also expected to release with a 5070 mAh battery and a 25W Turbo Charger. The listing also mentions two USB 3.0 Type C ports, bluetooth connectivity, dual band 2.5 GHz as well as Wi-Fi support.
Samsung will attend the MWC this year. According to PhoneArena, the tech giant is not going to present its Galaxy S8 phone in the flesh at the event; only a short film will be shown to attendees. This is because the company has decided to give tablets their own time to shine at MWC. Therefore, consumers should expect to see the Galaxy TabPro S2 and the Galaxy Tab S3 at the big exhibition.
