Telefónica and Microsoft will jointly offer companies of all sizes and linked to any type of activity solutions to “evolve” voice technologies by integrating them into a ‘cloud’ environment in which communications and collaborative applications are resolved, according to Both companies have reported in a statement.

The services have been deployed around the Microsoft Teams Phone voice platform and allow employees to connect and work collaboratively from anywhere and from any device (phone, computer or tablet).

“In this way, the user combines the capabilities of his team, such as mailbox management or call forwarding, with others typical of an advanced telephone switchboard, such as access to an automatic attendant or a call report”, Telefónica and Microsoft have pointed out.

To do this, Telefónica has developed an ecosystem of voice solutions that is based on its next generation network (NGN) and that connect the switchboard with the public network, “adding a layer that adds additional functionalities.”

These include the private numbering plan, hybrid and international scenarios and a range of professional services, such as migration support, delegated administration and end-to-end care for its ‘Smart Workplace’ service.

In the opinion of both companies, these solutions provide companies with “new capabilities and greater scalability” to “securely” digitize communications and collaboration applications.
