The companies attached to the ‘Google for Startups’ program in Spain and Portugal raised 108 million euros in investments in 2022, which represents an increase of 28% compared to last year, according to the economic impact report that the technology giant has prepared and published this Tuesday.
56% of the total investment, some 61 million euros, is due to the impulse of Google, according to the emerging companies. On the other hand, Google reports that companies that have participated in the past in one of the company’s programs raised some 36 million euros in 2022.
The average monthly income of the companies promoted by technology stood at 74,000 euros, for which they advanced 35% compared to 2021. On their side, they generated 700 new jobs, while the companies that were part of old programs hired 277 workers.
Globally, the ‘Google for Startups’ firms raised 1,200 million dollars (1,116 million euros) in 2022. In addition, they created a total of 9,000 jobs.
