The Ibex 35 has closed with a slight decrease of 0.10% this first session of the week, although it continues to cling to the level of 9,400 integers.

In Spain, the results season, which started last Thursday with Bankinter, will continue over the next few days with the accounts of BBVA, Santander, Iberdrola, Repsol, Enagás, Aena and Redeia, among other large companies.

This Monday, before the opening of the market, the results of FCC were announced, which obtained an attributable net profit of 96.9 million euros in the first quarter of the year, a figure 13.9% higher than that of the same period of 2022.

This week there will also be several shareholders’ meetings, such as those of Endesa and Iberdrola. The latter plans to address the re-election of Ignacio Sánchez Galán as president until 2027.

In the macro sphere, between next Thursday and Friday the unemployment data from the Active Population Survey (EPA) and the GDP for the first quarter of the year will be published in Spain, while the advance CPI for the month of April will be known .

In addition, the Spanish Government will send to Brussels this week the Stability Program 2023-2026, which will include the medium-term fiscal scenario and the update of the macroeconomic picture, in a context of high international uncertainty due to the impact of the war in Ukraine and the recent financial turmoil.

Among today’s references, the confidence index of German businessmen stands out, prepared by the Munich Institute for Economic Research (Ifo), which stood at 93.6 points in April from 93.2 in the month past, thus reaching its highest value since February 2022, when the invasion of Ukraine began.

In this context, Repsol has closed as the bullish value of the session, with an advance of 2.06%, followed by Sacyr (1.61%), Logista (1.48%), Ferrovial (0.86%), Aena (0.78%) and Acciona (0.72%).

On the other hand, the biggest falls have been for ArcelorMittal (-2.18%), Endesa (-1.79%), Acerinox (-1.52%), Colonial (-1.40%), Merlin Properties (- 1.32%), Enagás (-1.10%) and Telefónica (-1.09%).

In the rest of Europe, all the large parks have started the week with slight falls. The FTSE MIB index lost 0.75%, the German DAX 0.11%, the French CAC 0.04% and the UK FTSE 100 0.02%.

The barrel of Brent stood at 82.53 dollars, 1.05% more, while the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) reached 78.62 dollars, 0.96% more.

The yield of the Spanish bond with a maturity of 10 years in the secondary debt markets was trading at 3.532% towards mid-session, while the risk premium against German bonds stood at 103.8 basis points.

The euro appreciated 0.35% against the dollar around 6:00 p.m., reaching an exchange rate of 1.1025 dollars for each euro, thus recovering the level of 1.1 dollars that it had lost in recent days.
