MADRID, 4 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Union of Associations of Self-Employed Workers and Entrepreneurs (Uatae) has celebrated the affiliation data to the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) published this Tuesday, which it describes as “positive”, and has recognized that the measures taken by the Government “are paying off.”

The general secretary of the organization, María José Landaburu, has highlighted that the “protection shields” that have been set up to protect the economic activity of the self-employed have favored the consolidation of employment in this group, and has asked that “the Let your guard down” and continue betting on increasing social protection.

“We continue working so that no self-employed person is left behind and so that the month of March does not become an employability anomaly in the remainder of the year”, Landaburu pointed out, adding that from Uatae they will continue “supporting and betting on the reinforcements of the social shield for the self-employed”.

According to data from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations, RETA affiliation has increased by 0.34% in March compared to the previous month, exceeding 3.3 million registered self-employed workers.

Although self-employment has registered a slight drop in year-on-year terms, from Uatae they downplay it, explaining that it is due to the incorporation in this period of about 40,000 false self-employed workers into salaried work.
