The Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) has been appointed a member of the Circular Economy Advisory Council of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge and has participated in the constitution meeting of this body, held on December 15, as reported by the association it’s a statement.
Thus, UNE is one of the 30 social and economic agents, waste managers, consumers and research centers that will be in charge of assessing the results of the 2021-23 Action Plan of the Spanish Circular Economy Strategy.
The Circular Economy Advisory Council is one of the five governance bodies that were created within the framework of this Strategy, and its purpose is to evaluate and guarantee compliance with the objectives set for 2023 and propose new measures for the next biennium.
The secretary of the UNE Circular Economy Advisory Commission, Iván Moya, has indicated that UNE’s commitment to the circular economy is “firm” and has highlighted that the association has contributed to this end through the “development of technical standards that support organizations in their compliance” and with “tools that facilitate effective implementation”.
In this line, the organization has prepared the ‘Study of the contribution of technical standards to the circular economy’, which includes more than 300 UNE standards that help implement the circular economy in companies.
