TROY – A video of a man stealing a handbag from the McDonald’s Restaurant on Hoosick Street was released by city police who said they hope the movie leads them to the thief.
Troy police on Thursday released this video in hope someone can identify the man in his Jan. 21, 2017 taken at the McDonald’s on Hoosick Street.
The incident took place at 7:50 p.m., Jan. 21. The video shows a man walk into the restaurant and then nonchalantly walk over to a group of empty chair where a handbag had been left. The man grabs the bag and walks out.
Police say so far they have been stymied in efforts to identify the man.
Detectives want to talk to anyone who recognizes the man and anyone who may have been in the restaurant at the time of the theft.
