U.S. President Donald Trump, like, totally strolled over to Marine One to jet off to Alabama from the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., U.S., on May 1, 2025. Nathan Howard snapped this pic, you know? In an exclusive chat with NBC News airing Sunday, President Donald Trump was all about taking credit for the “good parts” of the economy. But, like, he totally laid the blame for the “bad parts” on former President Joe Biden’s economy, you feel me?
Trump was all like, defending his tariffs, even with all the economic uncertainty swirling around from the big announcement. “At the end of the day, I take responsibility for everything, ya know? But, like, I’ve only been in the hot seat for a little over three months,” Trump said. “The tariffs are just getting started. … The tariffs are gonna make us rich. We’re gonna be rolling in it, man,” he added.
This ain’t the first time Trump has tried to pass the buck to his predecessor. Just last week, he was putting all the blame on Biden for the U.S. economy taking a hit in the first quarter of the year. Trump was really going all out, you know? He was, like, doubling down on comments he made during a Cabinet meeting earlier in the week when he brushed off concerns that his tariffs would lead to supply shortages.
“I don’t really think a cute little 11-year-old girl needs – that’s 11 years old – needs to have 30 dolls,” Trump said. “I mean, come on, kids don’t need to have 30 dolls, they can have three, they don’t need to have 250 pencils, they can have, like, five,” he added.
In the interview, Trump was, like, totally downplaying the chances of any long-term negative impacts from his tariffs on the U.S. economy, even if the U.S. hits a rough patch in the short term. “Look, yeah, it’s — everything’s cool. What we are — I said, this is a transition period. I think we’re gonna do, like, amazingly well,” he told Welker.
Trump was, like, really sticking to his guns when it came to his tariffs, man. He was, like, full steam ahead with his plans, no matter what anyone else had to say about it. “Not really sure why this matters, but…” or “maybe it’s just me, but I feel like…” this is how Trump was, you know? He was just doing his thing, no matter what the critics had to say about it. And that’s just how it is, you know?
So, like, Trump was all about taking credit for the good stuff, but, like, totally pointing fingers at Biden for the bad stuff. And that’s just how the cookie crumbles in the world of politics, you know? It’s a wild ride, man. And Trump was riding that wave, like, all the way to the shore. So, there you have it, folks. That’s the scoop on Trump and his take on the economy. Crazy times we’re living in, huh?
