Probing between SPD and CDU begins
About 80 days after Bundestag election, second start for a government formation in Germany starts on Wednesday with a top-level discussion between Union and SPD. Following failed Jamaica negotiations by CDU/CSU, FDP and Greens, party and Bundestag group leaders want to explore wher a renewed grand coalition can be possible. It is not reckoned with a government before March 2018.
CDU/CSU (32.9 percent) and SPD (20.5 percent) had ir worst result since 1949 in Bundestag election last September. If exploratory talks fail or approximately 440,000 SPD members say in a planned membership decision at end of no, it is likely to be reelected. Never before has a government formation in confederation taken so long.
