The cop who claims he was sleepwalking when he wandered from a pal’s home in his underwear and allegedly slugged a woman in a neighboring apartment is in ill health, his lawyer said Wednesday.
Officer Eugene Donnelly, who has been on modified duty since the 2014 incident, wasn’t in Bronx Supreme Court for a routine hearing due to the undisclosed illness.
“He has medical issues,” lawyer Michael Marinaccio told reporters, declining to elaborate.
Donnelly, 29, made headlines when, hours after receiving the NYPD’s Combat Cross for bravery, he allegedly got blind drunk with a friend and, clad only in black boxers, broke into a neighboring woman’s Bronx apartment.
“Sometimes I’m a good guy, but sometimes I’m a bad guy,” he told the woman before punching her in the face, according to authorities.
