AKRON, Ohio – An Akron man was shot twice Wednesday morning outside a house in the city’s Summit Lake neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened about 9:30 a.m. on the 200 block of West Miller Avenue, near the Lake Shore Boulevard intersection, Akron police said. The 30-year-old victim was hit twice, once in the arm and once in the leg.
The victim got into a car with a friend and drove to South Broadway Street. He came across an Akron fire unit while driving and asked for help, police said.
Paramedics took Sultanbet him to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
No suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Akron police department at 330-375-2552.
The Wednesday morning shooting is the third within about 10 hours that the Akron police are investigating. A 20-year-old man drove himself to the hospital after being shot just before midnight, and a 22-year-old man was struck in the back by gunfire around 1:30 a.m., police said.
