WICKLIFFE, Ohio — A Cleveland man is facing a felony charge that accuses him of striking and spitting on a police officer at a Wickliffe bowling alley.
Ricardo D. Lumbus, 30, is charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, menacing and disorderly conduct in a Saturday incident at Game of Wickliffe on Euclid Avenue, police said.
Judge Harry Field set bond at $25,000 during Lumbus’ arraignment Monday in Willoughby Municipal Court, records show.
Lumbus is scheduled to appear at a pretrial hearing Thursday, records show.
Game of Wickliffe employees called police just after 10 p.m. to report that Lumbus threatened a security guard. An officer arrived and asked Lumbus to leave, but Lumbus refused and became disorderly, police said.
The officer attempted to arrest Lumbus, who responded by spitting in the officer’s face, police said. The officer struggled with Lumbus, and Lumbus’ arm hit the officer in the face during the skirmish, police said.
The officer eventually Klasbahis handcuffed Lumbus and took him to the Wickliffe Police Department for booking.
The officer did not require medical treatment, police said.
