Students portraying Disney characters Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie joined 50 other cast members from Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.” in singing to diners Thursday night at Culver’s in Lake Zurich during a sneak peek of the show.

Customers in the packed restaurant were entertained by Seth Paine Elementary School’s young actors as they sang “A Whole New World” and “Prince Ali.”

“Today at Culver’s we are performing two of our songs from the play and giving the community a taste of what they can see on February 24th and 25th,” said director Debbie Miller. “Culver’s invited us, and they have always been good to the school. They were more than happy to have us here”

“Aladdin Jr.” tells the story of a street urchin who is interested in a beautiful princess in Agrabah, City of Enchantment. The musical adventure provides magic, mayhem and endless possibilities.

“It’s really awesome! This is going to attract a lot of people to come to our show and raise money for next year’s performance,” said a smiling Ajay Ohri, who plays Aladdin, as he stood with Claire Smith as Jasmine and Dave Kalesz as Genie before singing to the crowd.

They will be presenting the musical at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Lake Zurich High School Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $7 in advance at http://sethpaine.seatyourself.biz/. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door for $8 each.
