CLEVELAND, Ohio — It’s the circle of life for actor Donald Glover.

After landing his dream role of Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo spinoff film, the star and creator of “Atlanta” is set to play the voice of Simba in Disney’s remake of “The Lion King.”

James Earl Jones, who provided the voice of Mufasa in the 1994 original animated version, is set to reprise the role.

“The Lion King” is the latest Disney animated classic the studio to be given the live-action treatment, following the likes of “Cinderella” and “Beauty and the Beast.” While there are no human characters in the story, director Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”) plans to bring the cartoon to life with the same CGI techniques he used on “The Jungle Book” last year.

The studio hasn’t set a release date for “The Lion King” yet. Glover can next be seen in the Han Solo movie on May 25, 2018. “Atlanta” is also slated to return for season two sometime in 2018.
