Drunken driving, Sprague Road: On Jan. 8, police observed speeding and weaving car traveling westbound on Sprague Road. Before the car could be pulled over, the driver went through a traffic light and cut off a snowplow.

While talking to the driver, the officer smelled alcohol. The driver slurred that he was sorry and was headed to his girlfriend’s house. He denied drinking.

After failing a field sobriety test, the man was arrested for drunken driving. While searching the car, police found open beer cans, marijuana, a pipe and marijuana cultivation items.

At the station, he called the police corrupt and said he just smokes “a little bit of weed.” The man was also cited for drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, weaving, speeding, disobeying a traffic light and open container. 

Drunken driving, Creekwood Court: On Jan. 8, police were dispatched to Creekwood Court regarding a two-car crash. An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said her Jeep, which had been parked in her spot, was hit and subsequently pushed into the grass.

After checking the area, the officer found a Dodge van with appropriate damage. While talking to the van’s owners, the officer heard the woman say she was driving. The officer said they both appeared drunk. After failing a field sobriety test, the woman was arrested for drunken driving and hit-skip.

As for the man, he gave the police a fake name. It turned out he had a warrant from the Parma Police. He was arrested and held for transport. Also, the man was cited for falsification and obstructing official business. 

Drug abuse, Wallings Road: On Jan. 14, police observed a Toyota Camry with one working headlight on Wallings Road. While talking to the nervous driver, the officer smelled marijuana. He denied smoking.

While searching the Camry, police found marijuana, a pipe and a Boston Celtics hat. The officer asked both the driver and passenger who liked the Celtics? The driver said he was a fan.

That’s when he was arrested for drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Drug abuse, W. 130th: On Jan. 13, police observed a speeding black Toyota Camry on W. 130th. While talking to the Strongsville resident, the officer smelled marijuana. Also, the driver appeared dazed and relaxed.

After observing in plain view a cigarillo wrapper, the officer asked the driver if he had smoked. The man admitted to earlier in the evening. After searching the Camry, police found a joint and marijuana.

The man was cited for speeding, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug abuse, Royalton Road: On Jan. 9, police observed a Ford Taurus with expired plates in the Speedway parking lot. While talking to the driver, the officer smelled marijuana. The man admitted to smoking earlier in the evening.

While searching the car, police found a grinder and marijuana. The man was cited for expired plates, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.
