Rep. Hakeem Jeffries says he still hasn’t ruled out a run for mayor of New York City.
After an article was published on Politico earlier in the day saying Jeffries was no longer mulling an opportunity to unseat Mayor de Blasio — a fellow Democrat — Jeffries took to Twitter to keep the speculation alive.
“Focused on Trump. No final decision about City Hall until the Spring,” he posted on Twitter.
For much of 2015 and 2016, Jeffries (D-Brooklyn) had been one of the most vocal critics of de Blasio.
But that criticism has died down in recent months.
Jeffries did not respond to a message seeking comment.
