Lost property, Mayfield Road:

A man said Jan. 26 a leaf blower fell off his truck and before he could retrieve it, the driver of another vehicle took it from the street. The man obtained the license plate number of the driver’s vehicle and officers were able to identify him. They contacted him and he subsequently returned the leaf blower.

Suspicion, Chagrin River Road:

A resident reported Jan. 23 she saw a suspicious van at a neighbor’s home and there was a man walking around who she did not recognize. An officer went to the home and confirmed it was a Time Warner technician.

Suspicion, Cottesworth Lane:

A resident reported at 5:35 p.m. Jan. 26 there was a vehicle that was stopped at the Gates Mills Boulevard intersection for an extended period of time. An officer learned the driver lived in the area and she had pulled over for a few minutes.

Traffic violation, Mayfield Road:

A Cleveland Heights man, 23, was cited Jan. 27 for speeding and reckless operation. He had been driving 80 miles-per-hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone.
