A homeowner who had just purchased a vacant house in The Bronx at auction got more than he bargained for Monday — when he discovered the body of a man who may have been squatting there, cops said.

The new owner found the dead man, described as being in his 30s, in a bedroom at the home on Bainbridge Avenue in Fordham Manor around 11 a.m.

The dead man had cuts and bruises on his face and body consistent with being beaten, cops said.

The homeowner had recently purchased the home at an auction and was conducting a survey of the property when he found the corpse, cops said.

The city medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
