GENEVA, Ohio – The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a man killed Wednesday in a shooting involving an Ashtabula County Sheriff’s deputy.

The deputy shot Vincent D. Palma, 26, while investigating a disturbance on South Ridge Road near Tuttle Road in Geneva, officials said.

Paramedics took Palma to University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center. He died after being transferred to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, the medical examiner’s office said.

Officials have not released the deputy’s identity or any additional information about the shooting.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the shooting, officials said.
